The Wind Rises is currently the 4th most recent Studio Ghibli film, a biographical film and currently Miyazaki's last film. It is about a young boy Jiro Hiroshimi who wanted to become a pilot but his shortsightedness prevents it. Then one day, he had a dream about an aircraft designer named Giovannci Caproni who stated that he never flew a plan before but is a successful aircraft designer so Jiro decides to become one himself.

5 Years later, Jiro meets a girl named Naoko, who is travelling with her maid. Soon after, an earthquake hits, the maid's leg is broken and Jiro had to carry her to Naoko's family and left without giving his name.

When Jiro graduates, he was assigned to design a fighter plane sponsored by the Japanese Imperial Army, however, the plane broke during the flight test and was denied by the army. He is later promoted to chief and submits another design to also again get rejected. Being disappointed he goes to a resort and meets Naoka again and they become he proposes to marry her, however she declines this offer due to her having tubercolosis and refuses to marry until she recovers.

Later Jiro is wanted by the Secret Japanese police for connection with a Nazi Leader so he hides in his supervisors home while he works on more projects. While this happens Naoko leaves a sanatorium to spend her last days with Jiro but knows that she will die in the process.

This is one of the most romantic movies from Studio Ghibli. My favourite scene in this movie was when Naoko caught Jiro's Hat and later in the movie where he caught her umbrella and hat. I loved how the theme of aircraft contributed to their love together.

My favourite character in this movie is Naoko, I like her because she brought the flavour of romance to the movie, if it weren't for her, I wouldn't of enjoyed this movie about designing planes and whatnot.

I finished this movie with tears in my eyes and I guarantee that it'd fill your eyes too.
